Influence of physical properties of explosives on the characteristics of detonation waves: a molecular-dynamics study

In the present study, the molecular-dynamics method was used to investigate into the effect of atomic mass on the detonation wave processes in molecular crystals. The characteristics of interest were the detonation-wave propagation velocity, the detonation-wave structure, the delay time of the chemical reaction, and macroscopic energy characteristics of the disturbed region. A comparison of gained molecular-dynamics data with the predictions of the continual theory of detonation is given; in particular, the Chapman-Jouguet condition is addressed.
